Gastro Juice was formed by Sampson & Bur in 2004 because of their increasing love for food.
Often on Thursday evenings both of us would be working late and saw this night as a good opportunity to hook up, try some new food, and generally catch up.
On many occasions we ran out of ideas where to eat which led us to the internet. The lack of good food websites soon became aparent (Kebab then?).
Often sites where out dated or without reviews. Local food webistes tried to do too much! Covering a massive area or solely relied upon users reviews.
Getting users to review the restaurants for themselves is a nice idea, but when unmoderated posts like Britney loves sheep¿¿ appear and the whole site goes to pot. Other sites were too eager to cash in by providing a restaurant review service and judging by their horrible content the formula had not proved successful.
Unfortunately these days we do not get an opportunity to hook up on Thursdays as we live in different ends of the country. Our love for food has continued to grow since the inception of this site and although it has taken a while to put together it is getting there. Hopefully people will find this site useful and interesting. The main aim of this website is to give a fresh view on food. No bull shit, straight up opinions and experiences. Neither of us have any formal training in catering or the food industry. We just like interesting and good food and would like to share our journey through munch enlightenment.
